Jordan has been living in Wichita for about a year now (since May 2024). Jordan is married to Mary Beth, and together they have one beautiful girl named Lily. Their family is settling into the area. They are a part of the community of Vintage Faith Church in West Wichita. Local community is a bedrock of their lives here in Wichita.

Jordan got his training in Nashville, at Belmont University. Belmont has 3 schools that work together a lot. A music school, a music business school, and an audio engineering school. Jordan attended all three, and pursued what is called a Commercial Music degree. While in Nashville, he was able to gain experience as a session musician, as a producer, as an engineer, as well as experience in copyright law and negotiating music business contracts.

In Jordan's personal music career, he has utilized all these skills in the real world as an independent artist. Jordan has released music independently on platforms like Bandcamp under the names Food For Sparrows, Jordan Joshua James, as well as contributed to other projects. As an independent artist, one must wear many hats. Jordan has contributed to his own projects by writing, recording, mixing and mastering, designing album artwork, and writing copy and metadata for various releases.

So, if you are an independent artist reading this, or you are a small business owner recording podcasts (or creating your own media of any type), you know what it's like. You are in good company.
